LabTest is first North American Body to be recognized as a CAB for EMC testing for Mexico

January 19, 2018 Following the request and endorsement submitted by the department of “Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada” (ISED) to the Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT – Federal Institute of Telecommunications), LabTest Certification Inc. can now officially announce to have been granted recognition as the first foreign third-party Conformity Assessment Body(CAB No. 5970) for the evaluation of Telecommunication and Broadcasting products and/or infrastructure.

The recognition was made possible thanks to the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) in place between the Government of Canada and the Government of the United Mexican States and based on Appendix B of the MRA and Chapter IX of the ” Guidelines for Accreditation, Authorization, Designation and Recognition of Testing Laboratories “, published in the “Diario Oficial de la Federación” on October 11, 2016.

LABTEST CERTIFICATION INC., can now operate as a foreign third-party Testing Laboratory and evaluate products for conformity, to the following Mexican Official Standards:

NOM-084-SCT1-2002 Telecommunications-Radiocommunication – Technical Specifications of transmitting equipment used in specialized fleet radiocommunication mobile services (trunkings)
NOM-088/1-SCT1 -2002 Telecommunications-Radiocommunication – Microwave equipment for multi-channel systems in the fixed service point to point and point to multipoint – Part 1: radio multiple access.
NOM-088/2-SCT1 -2002 Telecommunications-Radiocommunications – Microwave equipment for multi-channel systems in the fixed service point to point and point to multipoint – Part 2: Transport.
NOM-208-SCF1-2016 Products. Radiocommunication systems employing spread spectrum technique – Radiocommunication equipment with frequency hopping and digital modulation operating in the bands 902-928 MHz, 2400-2483.5 MHz and 5725-5850 MHz – Specifications and test methods * NOM-EM-016-SCF1-2016, withdrawn on October 21, 2016 and replaced by NOM-208-SCF1-2016 published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on February 7, 2017.
