Salt Spray Testing
Protect your equipment with a salt spray test. Keep your equipment safe and protected. Get your products certified, and get them to market faster!
Salt Spray testing (sometimes referred to as Salt Fog or Salt Mist testing) is used to evaluate the effects of a salt solution on protective finishes and coatings, as well as the effects of salt deposits on products, including their electrical components.
Salt exposure predominantly effects products used near to the sea or in coastal environments but salt exposure can also occur in many other environments with potentially detrimental effects.
The Salt Spray test involves exposing the equipment under test to a corrosive saline environment by supporting it within a dedicated chamber and injecting a salt solution with a precisely controlled pH and salt content percentage.
Various other test conditions are also carefully controlled and monitored including the salt spray rate and temperature within the chamber.
LabTest Certification have the equipment and expertise to perform Salt Spray tests in accordance with a number of standards, including MIL-STD-810, ASTM B117, IEC 60068-2-11, IEC 60068-2-52, and IEC 60068-2-60 among others.
