• The power supply cable used to be suitable certified for Ex db and Zone 1 installation and acceptable to Local Authority Having Jurisdiction.
• Separate cable entries shall be designated for the intrinsically safe field wiring.
• Individual intrinsically safe circuit components and wiring shall be separated from each other
• The installation shall comply with the intrinsically safe barrier manufacturer’s installation instructions.
• The possibility that non-intrinsically safe field wiring could come in contact with intrinsically safe terminals or wiring shall also be eliminated.
• The clearance distance between bare conductive parts and terminals of intrinsically safe circuits and non-intrinsically safe circuits shall be at least 50 mm or as defined in IEC 60079-11.
• The terminals of intrinsically safe circuits shall be marked for clear identification to differentiate them from the terminals of non-intrinsically safe circuits.
• The clearance distance between bare conductive parts and terminals of connection facilities shall be at least 6 mm between the separate intrinsically safe circuits.
