- The approved construction of the product is as described below in this report.
- Certification is voided if the product has been modified or changed by the manufacturer or end user, unless the changes have been reviewed and approved in writing by LC. Verbal approval is not permitted.
- Certification covers also safety from electric shock and fire/explosion hazards and apply only to the construction elements described in this report.
- The suitability of the use of equipment involving toxic or corrosive gases; steam locations defined as hazardous locations by the Canadian Electrical Code or the National Electrical Code was not evaluated.
- The ambient temperature for the use of fittings for Division 1, and/or as Ex db for Zone 1 is in the range from -60°C to +60°C.
- The service temperature range for the fitting equipped with a gasket in an application as Ex eb and/or Ex tb is from -60°C to +110°C.
- The installer shall ensure that the fittings is installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and achieves the thread engagement required by the product certification or other fitting in order to provide the declared minimum wall thickness that is required by the Division system standard UL 1203. Insufficient thread engagement may invalidate the hazardous-location certification of the installation.
- All joints shall be properly tightened to maintain the declared ingress protection IP66 / IP68 (5 bar, 48 h) as well as Type 4X.
- The limitation to the use of these fittings with flameproof enclosures in the application for the North American Division marking system has been given through the tables in the manual for OSAJ, OSRA, OSSP and OSAE.
