  • Additional clamping of cable shall be installed to ensure that pulling and twisting is not transmitted to the terminal.
  • The installer shall ensure that the cable fittings is installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and achieves the thread engagement required by the product certification. Insufficient thread engagement may invalidate the hazardous-location certification of the installation
  • All cable fitting variants listed in this report, apart from OS-A2F-UH and OS-A2F-UHMH (see below), are intended to be used with circular flexible cable as the primary interface with the cable fitting.
  • OS-A2F-UH and OS-A2F-UHMH are single compression cable glands intended for use with for non-circular heating cables as the primary interface with the cable fitting.
  • All joints shall be properly tightened to maintain the declared ingress protection IP66 / IP68 / Type 4X.
  • Routine inspection on installed cable fittings must be carried out to ensure the applicable method of protection(s) are being maintained to ensure compliance with Ingress Protection (IP rating/environmental sealing), mechanical protection, strain relief and explosion proof/flameproof protection (Ex d / Ex e)
  • The cable fittings shall not be depended upon to carry a fault current. All fittings listed in this report are to be considered non-grounding type.

  • In Canada these fittings are not to be used with cables that are designated as equipment grounding conductors.
  • Cable selected for use must meet the installation requirements of National Electrical Code Article 500 and Canadian Electrical Code Section 18 for the ‘Ex’ method of protection being applied. All other connections are to be considered secondary.
    • Not to be used with loose conductors.
  • Per the Canadian deviations to CSA C22.2 No. 60079-0, equivalent Class/Division/Group markings are not permitted on IEC 60079-certified cable glands. Division 2 suitability is determined by the applicable installation codes (CEC/NEC), and the absence of a Division 2 marking does not limit the product’s use.
  • The product is certified for installation in Class II, Division 2, Groups F and G hazardous locations in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC). This certification applies to Canada only and does not constitute certification or approval for U.S. hazardous locations under the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Cable fittings series listed on this certificate are suitable for use in a Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B,C,& D areas when installed as per the manufacturer’s instructions and in accordance with the requirements of National Electrical Code (NEC) and the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
