Conditions of acceptability:

  •  When connecting the equipment to a source of supply and other connections, the installer shall ensure that the entry method into the equipment maintains a degree of protection of at least IP66.
  • All incoming cables shall be fitted with appropriately sized ring crimp connections when connecting to a source of supply.
  • The oil tank level gauges shall be inspected for any damage, aging, cracks, etc, and be verified to be operating properly at least annually.
  • The oil level in the oil tanks must always be within the minimum and maximum allowed fill levels.
  • Field wiring to L1, L2, & L3 must be rated for at least 90°C.
  • Field wiring to all other input terminals in the terminal enclosure must be rated for at least 90°C.
  • Covers and lids shall be closed and secured by all fasteners whenever the equipment is energized.
  • The tap switch must only be changed when equipment is de-energized. Cover must be locked whenever equipment is in use.
  • The Internal liquid level switch circuit must be used, and it must be wired into a Sil 1 or PLc rated safety circuit when operated.
  • Only mineral oil certified to IEC 60296 or silicone oil certified to IEC 60836 is to be used with the equivalent or greater properties to the oil identified in the listing report.
  • Harris #V321DA40 or LittleFuse#V321DA40 (or equivalent) MOVs rated at 320vac @ 460Joules must be wired directly on the lines directly feeding the DF unit in a WYE configuration with the center of the WYE left floating.
  • Bussman FWH-250A (or equivalent) semiconductor type fuses rated at 225AAC must be located on the lines directly feeding the DF unit.
