• A separation of at least 50mm must be maintained between different intrinsically safe cables/wires and intrinsically safe cables/wires and non-IS cables all the time.
• Cable systems for wiring of intrinsically safe explosive atmospheres shall be installed to minimize migration of flammable fluids to other locations.
• No changes to or modifications of the intrinsically safe devices are permitted without additional assessment.
• Only approved certified cable gland and conduit sealing fitting shall be used.
• All unused device openings must be fitted with a certified close-up plug. The end user is to ensure appropriate earthing upon installation.
