An ideal mounting fixture

In Vibration Testing, we refer to “mounting fixture” as the fastening system that holds the product onto the vibration equipment.

Whether by bolting the sample directly onto the flat plate or using an apparatus and having a proper mounting fixture is key for the result of the tests, as it could make a difference between pass and fail.

Having the wrong fixture would not allow for the vibrations to be transmitted into the test sample. To put it simply, an ideal fixturing would be a simple, light, and rigid one, but other solutions might work as well.
