A well-established company with 20 years in the industry and locations worldwide is looking for an experienced Calibration Technician to join our team.

We are currently looking for an individual, who likes challenges, to fulfill the full-time position as a Calibration Technician based in Delta, BC, Canada.

In this role, you will be involved setting up the calibration department for calibration of external as well as in-house equipment.

If you have the following, you may be the person we are looking for!

  • 2-year Diploma in Electrical Technology / Mechanical or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical engineering
  • Ability to use and work with testing/measuring equipment and hand tools on a regular basis
  • Technical mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

If hired, what will you be doing at LabTest?

As a Calibration Technician, key duties will include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Set up and build the calibration department for calibration of external equipment
  • Conducts and records routine and non-routine calibration for in-house instruments, tools and equipment
  • Responsible for the maintenance, storage, assignment and tracking of instruments, tools and equipment
  • Monitors the daily conditions of the instruments, tools and equipment
  • Conducts the labelling of instruments, tools and equipment
  • Organizes and coordinates calibration of LabTest equipment at external accredited calibration laboratories
  • Reviews data and documentation provided by calibration labs for conformity to LabTest requirements
  • Assists LabTest staff with enquiries related to LabTest instruments, tools and equipment
  • Plans, perform and record preventive maintenance
  • Compiles instrument records and provide analysis
  • Identify the reasons for inconsistencies
  • Improve calibration setups for efficiency
  • Read and evaluate technical standards, prepare test procedures accordingly
  • Maintains accurate, orderly and complete data
  • Maintains and updates equipment list database and consumables database
  • Participates and provides inputs in the Quality Management Systems
  • Participates in audits to discuss and defend LabTest’s Equipment management processes
  • Respond to relevant NCRs – investigate, perform root cause analysis, propose corrective actions
  • Coordinates and manages multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ensure all assignments are completed systematically on time and within budget.
  • Prepares Technical Files, Reports and summaries
  • Complete general administrative work
  • Development of external calibration business including – sales, invoicing, customer relations, etc.
