The Lighting industry is probably the one industry that’s seen one of the most rapid evolutions over the past few centuries. Lighting enables us to do activities at night, create cozy environments in our homes, gardens, or at workplaces. Incandescent and then fluorescent bulbs, something that nowadays we all take for granted, were one of the first breakthroughs in lighting, until LEDs made their appearance. After that, lighting took off and continued to evolve rapidly into newer and newer technologies.
Today, it’s become less and less uncommon to see lighting fixtures incorporate Internet of Things (IoT) into their design that enable the end user to control the device with a tap of a finger on a cellphone. From the first incandescent filaments to fluorescent lamps, and nowadays, high tech lighting products using intricate LED components, one thing is for sure: this industry hasn’t seen it all yet.
