  • When connecting the equipment to a source of supply and other connections, the installer shall ensure that the entry method into the equipment maintains a degree of protection of at least IP66.
  • All incoming cables shall be fitted with appropriately sized ring crimp connections when connecting to a source of supply.
  • The oil tank level gauges shall be inspected for any damage, aging, cracks, etc. and be verified to be operating properly at least annually.
  • The oil level in the tank must always be within the minimum and maximum allowed fill levels.
  • Field wiring to L1 and L2 must be rated for at least 90o
  • Field wiring to all other input terminals in the terminal enclosure must be rated for at least 90o

Covers and lids shall be closed and secured by all fasteners whenever the equipment is energized.

  • The output HV tap switch must only be operated when the equipment is de-energized/ the handle must be locked whenever the equipment is in use.
  • The internal pressure switch circuit must be used, and it must be wired into a Sil 1 or PLc rated safety circuit and must be connected to circuitry that will automatically disconnect power to the system.
  • If this unit is to have its oil changed or need to have oil added to it and Cross Grade 206 oil is not available, other equivalent oils are acceptable to be used only if they 1) meet the IEC296 / IEC 60296 standards and 2) hold equivalent or better parameter specification.
