  1. Cable glands for wiring installation shall be suitably certified and shall maintain the minimum IP54 ingress protection of the enclosure.
  2. Unused entry holes for the enclosure shall be fitted with suitable stopping plugs having an equipment certificate or having a component certificate subject to the confirmation by the end user/installer of the ingress protection rating and the permitted service temperature of the component.
  3. End users shall follow specific installation and operating instructions supplied by the manufacturer to prevent exceeding the heat dissipating limits for the desired temperature code for an operating ambient.
  4. Under certain extreme circumstances, the non-metallic parts incorporated in the enclosure of this equipment may generate an ignition-capable level of electrostatic charge. Therefore, the equipment shall not be installed in a location where the external conditions are conducive to the build-up of electrostatic charge on such surfaces. In addition, the equipment shall only be cleaned with a damp cloth.
  5. The maximum cable length between the controller and the sensor shall not exceed 100 meters.
  6. A separation of at least 50mm or equivalent separation method must be maintained between all intrinsically safe cables and non-intrinsically safe cables at all times.
  7. Raceways, cable trays, and other wiring methods for intrinsically safe system wiring shall be identified with permanently affixed labels with the wording “Intrinsic Safety Wiring” or equivalent. The labels shall be located so as to be visible after installation and placed so that they may be readily traced through the entire length of the installation. Intrinsic safety circuit labels shall appear in every section of the wiring system that is separated by enclosures, walls, partitions, or floors.
  8. The equipment must be powered by a suitably certified SELV power supply.
  9. End-users are responsible for providing the required “Ex ec” ATEX certified junction boxes and connectors for field wiring installation as needed. The installation is subject to approval by the authority having jurisdiction in the final application.
