LabTest is proud to announce another great addition to our team: Mr. Mark Coppler, a leading expert in the world of Hazardous Locations equipment approvals!
Where to start… Mark comes to LabTest with a well-rounded background of combined design & certification of Hazardous Locations (Ex) equipment for various manufacturers for more than 35 years, with an additional 8 years of Ex product and quality system certification and auditing for DNVGL.
His strong and thorough knowledge of the Ex world is what led Mark to the Chairman position for the IEC TC 31 committee, which he has held since 2014. In addition, Mark is also an Ex-officio member of the IECEx Management Committee, the liaison between IEC TC 31 and IECEx, Convenor of Working Group 32 on creepage and clearance distances, and much more.
As the Senior Ex Project Manager for the HazLoc department at LabTest Certification, Mark will be managing Product and QMS assessment against applicable standards; developing and providing customer training programs; and representing LabTest at national and international Technical Committees. Process analyzer, instrumentation, equipment assemblies (compressors, power turbines, process pumps, etc.) and gas detection, as well as other equipment for use in Ex areas, are just some of the many product categories that Mark will continue to be involved with, while in his new role at LabTest.
Having been involved in US and IEC standards development since the early 1990s, it is not easy to give a full overview of all the extended expertise that Mark brings to LabTest. If you haven’t already had the pleasure to cross paths with Mark, feel free to contact him at Mark.Coppler@labtestcert.com. Mark and his LC HazLoc team will be happy to help you with your HazLoc needs.
