On July 13, 2016, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources tabled a draft regulation to replace the existing Regulation respecting the Energy Efficiency of Electrical or hydrocarbon-fuelled appliances. This initiative aimed to modernize efficiency requirements and align Québec’s standards with advances in technology and federal guidelines.
The draft regulation is published in the Gazette officielle du Québec for a period of 45 days, until August 27, 2016. During this consultation period, stakeholders, including manufacturers, distributors, and consumers, were invited to provide feedback to help shape the final version.
